The machine-building factory "Stamp" manufactures and sales samovars, gas cookers, gas heaters, gas tanks, metal fabricating,  products for households and for machine building industry. The factory was founded by V.S.Batashev in 1840.

 Machine-building plant «Shtamp» is the main producer of household equipment in Russia. The plant founded at the end of the XIX century
is located 190 km south of Moscow. The plant has gained popularity mostly owing to the traditional Russian samovars, which have been produced over the century (Produced 1,5 million a year).

In addition to samovars skillful masters of «Shtamp» (there are about 11,000 workers) produces:

— 120.000 household gas-stoves
— 130.000 electric lamps
— 120.000 electric radiators
— 1.000.000 fire-extinguishers
— 400. 000 kerosene stoves

Since XVIII, samovar has taken the unique place among the numerous household items made of brass and become the real art production referred to as real applied art.

During the XIX and XX centuries it has become the most characteristic symbol of Russian household, the main accessory of tea drinking as a part of the national cultural tradition.

"Tea-machine"— that was the nickname of samovar in Western Europe. And really, because of the special shape, it has the remarkable capability of producing sounds reflecting the stages in the process of water boiling: it sings, then it makes noise, then it swirling…

Now days we are out of habit to use samovars every day. But there is no holiday without samovar, popularity of which needs no comments.

The secret of such popularity is as follows: it is not only a kind of dish — it is the unique creation worth admiring as if has become the symbol of Russian hospitality and family comfort, a necessary feature of the Russian way of life and consequently a part of Russian applied art.

The components of the samovars are manufactured only of high-quality materials: body,  lid, teapot holder, tray, neck, handle brackets, cock and circle are made of brass. Standpipe, grating is made of cast iron. Some parts are made of steel, plastic and hard wood coated with spirit varnish.

Samovars with the artistic painting of the external surface of the samovar's body are in great fashion now. They are handmade by about 100 masters of painting of a special department, who produce the real masterpieces.
